As a budding florist, I spend a lot of time trawling the Internet looking for ideas and inspiration for the pieces I will make for college.
Last night in particular I came across a wedding photograph of a bride who's bouquet was made of one central rose but then built up in size and circumference by single rose petals being added. After some research I discovered (googling words which I think explained what I was looking for) that this arrangement is called a "Glamelia". I am now on the hunt for an online tutorial as sadly the weeks are running out for my course and sadly the projects lined up do not include this.
In case I'm not making myself clear the arrangement I mean are like those photographed below (I have borrowed these from the Internet).
I understand there is wire work involved but obviously it would new to be exceptionally delicate so to not damage the petals, but keep the structure solid.
Things like this really impress me and highlight just how involved the art of floristry is. Anyone can stick some flowers in a case and make them look half decent, but being able to arrange an item such as this so it remains beautiful and in tact is a feat of engineering and one which should be celebrated.
I am going to hasten a guess that even Isambard Kingdom Brunel would be impressed!
