Catching Up

Last night at college was not one which involved any real practical work, but catching up on adding what is needed for my portfolio - so a lot of cutting and sticking was done, which truth be told, I found quite fun.

It was then looked through by my lovely teacher Janine as well as the rest of my class mates, and so far so good and it appears to be the case that I am on the right track.

One of the other lady's in my class has made a really beautiful portfolio and it looks a lot more aesthetically pleasing that mine I must say - she has a real flare, and I believe that comes from being a former interior designer. It looks wonderful, and I will certainly be drawing inspiration from what she has done. It is the simple, yet elegant touches she has added, such as beautiful craft paper, made with real rose petals which make the written work which is placed on top of it, really stand out.

Next week we are going to be making Christmas wreath, so it will need to contain a lot of evergreen foliage. We are not going to use any real flowers, instead we need to use silk ones, so a trip to a local craft shop will be in order this weekend. We can make it as extravagant as we like and use adornments such as cinnamon sticks, slices of orange and so on. We can also use tinsel if we wish and other sparkly bits an pieces. Therefore I think I will be making something quite naff, but oh so festive. I can't wait! Below is a picture of a wreath I love. I might try to emulate something similar.
