The risk paid off!

I thought I ought to report that as of tomorrow at 12 noon I am officially an employed florist. Albeit part time but it is 100% a step in the right direction. After 5 days of relentless job hunting, I found a role on Gumtree and quickly applied. Jazz Flowers in Fulham (also located in Teddington, Middlesex) are now my new employers and I truly so excited at the prospect of what this could lead to. Not to mention the fact that I am now going to get to do a job that doesn't involve staring at a computer screen all day long!

So who knows what will be my first creation...even if it's sweeping the floor I don't mind, I just can't wait to get stuck in!

Anyway, I haven't reported back on my shower bouquet, so here is a quick update: basically for a first attempt it wasn't bad. It's a very complex item and will take a lot more attempts to perfect. You can understand why florists charge so much because when done properly thy are a complete work of art...I mean you don't buy a Picasso for £30 do you????!!!! My feelings are the arrangement I made was a little imbalanced, and really I should make I again as it was a little bottom and middle heavy, but on the whole I get the gist of how it was constructed. Luckily I still enjoyed making it as wire work I really like, so if i have to make it gain it won't be a chore. It'd be a scary thing I must admit if that was project number one tomorrow!!

Please have a look at the photos below and of course all comments welcome.
